Low-carbon hydrogen and climate finance in the context of the Brazilian sustainable taxonomy

Current Brazilian legislation sets a limit of up to 7 kg of CO₂ equivalent per kg of hydrogen produced, while international standards suggest around 4 kg of CO₂ equivalent. Experts suggest that the TSB could revise these criteria to align with global best practices.


Experts recently met to discuss the role of low-carbon hydrogen in climate finance, in the context of the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy (TSB) . The meeting highlighted the importance of clear criteria for sustainable hydrogen production and its alignment with international standards.
