The Suape Complex in Pernambuco, Brazil, received an institutional visit in November from Topsoe, a renowned Danish company specializing in hydrogen technologies, e-fuels, and industrial decarbonization processes. The visit marks the deepening of negotiations initiated during a recent official mission to Denmark—led by Governor Raquel Lyra—and signals the intention to transform the port into a national hub for clean energy.
Suape looks to the future with hydrogen, e-methanol, and cutting-edge decarbonization
During the meeting, Topsoe representatives were welcomed by the management of the Suape Complex, who presented the port's attractiveness for renewable energy projects, including the production of low-emission hydrogen, e-methanol, green ammonia, and the use of recycled CO₂. According to Topsoe's general manager in Brazil, the port has compatible infrastructure and a strategic location to enable large-scale investments in new technologies.
The visit reinforces Pernambuco's commitment to industrial and energy decarbonization. The expectation is that cooperation with Topsoe will accelerate the installation of sustainable projects, strengthening Suape as a national—and possibly regional—reference in green logistics. In addition to contributing to environmental goals, the initiative could attract investment, generate specialized jobs, and position the port as a key player in the global clean fuels chain. This development coincides with other advances in the region, such as the planned investment by another Danish company in the port for e-methanol production, consolidating Suape's vocation for the new low-carbon economy.
