SENAI Ceará has completed the training of two classes in the Hydrogen and Derivatives Port Operations course, an initiative carried out in partnership with the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP) and the Association of Companies of the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (AECIPP). The certification marks a strategic advance in the qualification of specialized labor for one of the most promising segments of the energy transition, consolidating Ceará as an emerging hub in the green hydrogen economy in Brazil.

Technical training aligned with international standards boosts competitiveness

Integrated into the international H2Uppp program — an initiative of the German government with support from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit and TÜV Rheinland — the 40-hour course was structured to prepare professionals for critical activities such as handling, storage, transport, and logistics of hydrogen and its derivatives in port environments. The content covers everything from physical-chemical properties and international safety standards to ammonia operations and logistical integration in seaports.

The training was based on technical expertise aligned with global standards, the result of an international immersion program conducted by the SENAI team in Germany. By connecting professional qualifications to the real demands of the industrial complex, the initiative strengthens regional competitiveness, anticipates the preparation of companies that are yet to begin operations, and positions the Pecém Complex as one of the main Brazilian hubs for the export and industrialization of low-carbon hydrogen.
