The inova-e platform is launching a new series of thematic Fact Sheets dedicated to mapping Brazilian investments in Research, Development, and Demonstration (RD&D) within the energy sector. The first study focuses on hydrogen and fuel cells, reflecting the growing importance of this technology value chain for the energy transition; it compiles data on investment trends, key funders, regional distribution, and breakdowns by nature, maturity, and technology category. This initiative enhances visibility into a field that is strategic for both the industry and national energy policy.

Structured data strengthens intelligence for investment and innovation policies

The first Fact Sheet provides an overview of hydrogen-related RD&D investments in Brazil, offering insight into how resources are distributed across the value chain and among different stages of technological development. inova-e was designed to consolidate strategic data on Brazilian energy innovation investments into a single database, making this information accessible to diverse audiences and supporting institutions such as EPE, MME, and MCTI, as well as the private sector and civil society.

Regarding hydrogen, the initiative is particularly significant as it allows for tracking not only the growth of funding allocated to the technology but also the maturity and geographic distribution of Brazilian innovation efforts within a value chain considered strategic for transforming the energy system.
