At a time when climate change occupies a central position on governmental, business, and scientific agendas, the launch of the book *Green Hydrogen*, published by Editora SENAI-SP, emerges as a relevant contribution to the debate on the global energy transition. The work brings together a broad analysis of contemporary climate challenges, the evolution of energy sources, and the strategic role of renewable hydrogen in building a more sustainable economy. According to the authors, hydrogen stands out as one of the main technologies capable of supporting the decarbonization of industry, transport, and energy systems, consolidating itself as one of the pillars of the 2050 Agenda for carbon neutrality.
A comprehensive view of the energy transition and opportunities for Brazil
The publication highlights that low-carbon hydrogen, produced by water electrolysis using renewable energy, represents an alternative capable of replacing fossil fuels in sectors difficult to electrify, such as steelmaking, fertilizers, heavy transport, shipping, and aviation. The book also demonstrates how hydrogen can act as a solution for large-scale energy storage, increasing the resilience of electrical systems powered by intermittent sources such as solar and wind.

The work also emphasizes Brazil's strategic positioning on the international stage, favored by its predominantly renewable electricity matrix and its potential to become one of the main global hubs for the production and export of low-carbon hydrogen. At the same time, the authors analyze the technological, logistical, regulatory, and economic challenges that still need to be overcome to consolidate this new production chain, advocating for continuous investment in innovation, infrastructure, and professional training as fundamental elements for the success of the energy transition.
