During the World Hydrogen Summit held in Rotterdam, a decisive step was taken towards a decarbonized global economy. Hydrogen Europe and LAC Clean Hydrogen Action signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Europe and Latin America in the development, adoption and international trade of clean hydrogen and its derivatives. The alliance seals a joint long-term commitment that seeks to accelerate the energy transition on a planetary scale.

Strategic alliance for innovation, trade and regulation of hydrogen

With more than 600 active members across the hydrogen value chain, Hydrogen Europe represents the leading voice of the European hydrogen industry. LAC Clean Hydrogen Action brings together industry associations from key countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, unifying regional efforts around concrete goals to make the region a global leader in the production of low-emission hydrogen.

The bilateral agreement reflects a shared vision: hydrogen as a strategic vector for global decarbonization. The memorandum establishes joint action fronts in critical areas such as international certification, common regulation, infrastructure, technical skills training, green export corridors and coordinated participation in multilateral forums, such as the global climate negotiations.

The signing of the agreement represents a milestone in the consolidation of a hydrogen agenda, not only promoting industrial synergies between Europe and Latin America, but also laying the foundations for a commercial and diplomatic architecture focused on a clean, safe and integrated energy economy.
