IPT opens Hydrogen Laboratory and promotes debate on the future of energy in Brazil

On the morning of July 1, 2025, the Institute of Technological Research (IPT) took a strategic step towards the Brazilian energy transition with the official inauguration of its Hydrogen Laboratory (LabH2). The new space's mission is to accelerate applied research into the production, storage, distribution and use of low-carbon hydrogen, acting as an essential platform for advancing the green economy and industrial competitiveness.
Hydrogen as a strategic vector for innovation and decarbonization
The online event will be attended by the State Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation, Vahan Agopyan, and the Undersecretary of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics, Marisa Maia, in addition to key figures from IPT, such as CEO Anderson Correia, Director of the Energy Unit João Carlos Sávio Cordeiro and Manager of the End Use and Energy Management Laboratory, Antônio Gentil.
The debate highlights the role of LabH2 as a link between science, sustainability and economy, connecting the public sector, academia and industry in the common effort to decarbonize production chains and increase energy security, in addition to the market opportunities that hydrogen offers to the state of São Paulo and Brazil.
