The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Energy Research Company (EPE) announced, this Tuesday (6), the new study agenda for planning the transmission of electric energy in Brazil in 2025. With a total of 37 studies scheduled, the initiative seeks to identify the facilities and equipment needed to expand the national transmission system, in response to the growth in energy demand and the transition to renewable sources.

Regional Expansion and International Integration

Among the highlighted studies, 15 are new, while 22 are a continuation of analyses started in 2024. The agenda includes, for example, the expansion of regional interconnections, with a focus on increasing the export capacity of the Northeast (study 1) and the assessment of the impact of the insertion of hydrogen loads in the same region (study 9), both scheduled for completion in 2025.
