Pernambuco Carbon Summit promotes dialogue on decarbonization and sustainable development

This week, on May 27 and 28, 2025, Solar do Douro Eventos, located at the JCPM Trade Center in Recife, will host the Pernambuco Carbon Summit, an international event that brings together experts, business leaders and public policy makers to discuss innovative strategies for sustainable development and decarbonization of the economy. Organized by the Sustainable Water Institute, the meeting places Pernambuco as a protagonist in a global debate on the energy transition and environmental regeneration.

Central themes and the leading role of the Suape Complex

The summit's program highlights essential themes for the future of cities and productive sectors, such as the modernization of port infrastructures to make them cleaner and more efficient, in the panel “The transition to the ports of the future”. The relevance of carbon credits to protect coastal environments, regenerative development practices and regulation of future fuels will also be on the agenda.

The event goes beyond a simple discussion forum: it seeks to actively engage participants in transforming industries into models of sustainable innovation, drawing inspiration from the example of the Suape Complex to articulate a vision where economic development and environmental preservation go hand in hand.
